Mel had a dream.... to walk the Camino and in doing so, to raise $100,000 to support the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes in the South Pacific.
This dream was initially thwarted by the worldwide outbreak of COVID-19. But Mel remained determined and committed to his dream until a massive heart attack ended his life and his dream. Well, I don't think dreams should die or be thwarted.... we can still make this happen!
I will walk the Camino in September, 2023 on Mel's behalf and in his place.... and you can help me make Mel's fundraising dream come true! Every 20 minutes an amputation of a toe, foot or limb is occurring in the South Pacific due to complications of diabetes. The South Pacific nations have the highest prevalence of diabetes in the World and 10,000 Toes Campaign is working hard to change this.
By making a tax deductible donation you will help turn the tide also on diabetes. Donations will go towards providing remote villages with equipment needed to screen diabetes and providing much needed education.
